Overview
When you add a new section to a Catalog Page using the + button in layout mode, Skilljar Starter opens a panel titled Choose a widget. This panel is the widget library. It groups available widgets into categories so you can select the one that best fits the page.
Widget Categories
The widget library includes the following categories.
- All: Shows every widget across every category in a single scrollable list.
- Blocks: Structural content widgets used to introduce, highlight, or direct learners, such as banners and quick links.
- Community: Widgets that surface community-style content, such as topics, discussions, or feeds. These align with the community modules referenced in the Skilljar Starter header.
- Gamification: Reserved for gamification widgets such as badges, ranks, and points.
- Layout: Widgets that help structure a page, such as containers, dividers, or spacers.
- Modules: Widgets that connect to platform modules and display module-driven content on the Catalog Page.
- Other: Widgets that do not fit into any other categories.
- Education: Education widgets for surfacing courses, learning paths, and other education content.
