MCP Support for Staircase Integration with LLMs

Staircase AI has introduced Model Control Protocol (MCP) support for integrating Ask Staircase with leading large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. This enhancement enables users to securely bring Staircase AI customer intelligence into their LLM-powered workflows, including document creation, presentations, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and more.

Enable MCP Server access option in Privacy & Security.

Key Capabilities

  • Enable MCP Server Access: A new checkbox has been added in Settings > Configurations > Privacy & Security that allows you to connect Staircase AI MCP server to supported LLMs.
  • Permission-Based Access: MCP access follows existing Staircase AI account permissions, ensuring only authorized users can retrieve data.
  • Secure Content Creation: You can incorporate Staircase AI insights into documents, presentations, reports, and customer-facing content.

Only authorized users with Staircase AI access can retrieve data using LLMs. Users without Staircase AI access cannot query or retrieve Staircase data using their LLM accounts.

Improved Notification Testing Workflow

Staircase AI has enhanced the Notification Settings testing experience by allowing admins to simulate notifications for specific customers. This improvement helps validate trigger logic, recipient roles, and delivery destinations before notifications are enabled in production.

What’s New

  • Test by Customer: Use the Test notification option to select a specific customer and preview how the notification behaves based on that customer’s unique configuration.
  • Smart Previews: Once a customer is selected, Staircase AI generates a real-time preview of delivery methods and destinations, such as targeted Slack channels or email addresses, tailored to that customer’s settings and assigned member roles.

Test notifications option in More option.

  • Built-in Error Detection: If a required member role is not found in the selected customer’s settings, a notification appears within the preview window to alert you of the missing configuration.

Error message if there is no contacts found for notification.

For more information on how to test notifications, refer to the Setting up email and Slack Notifications in Staircase article.

Custom Naming for Lifecycle Events

Admins can now rename OOTB Lifecycle events from the Label option in Settings > Configurations > Lifecycle events to better align with your organization's terminology or customer journey stages. This update addresses a commonly requested enhancement from our customers.
