Change Document for Permission Bundle

Gainsight NXT

This article helps admins learn about the changes in Permission Bundles as part of the redesigned experience.

Overview

The Permission Bundles feature enables admins to easily set up various permissions in Gainsight for users based on their roles in the organization, including Navigation, Survey, Email Template, and Program Permissions. Admins can only create new permissions for Full License user types and they rely on default permission bundles for Viewer and Viewer Analytics user types. Additionally, admins are currently unable to clone existing permissions, and the user experience is not intuitive. The Permission Bundle redesign offers an enhanced user experience and greater customization, with a more intuitive design, flexible access controls, and efficient configuration options.

Key improvements and enhancements include:

Redesigned User Experience

Old Experience:

The following screen displays the old user interface of the permission bundle.

New Experience:

The redesigned interface of Permission Bundles makes navigation and management more user-friendly, facilitating easier access and control over permissions.

Permission Bundle Customization for Users

Old Experience:

Previously, admins were unable to create new customized bundles for Viewer or Viewer Analytics license users; only the default bundles for these license types were available. New bundles could be created only for Full license user types, as there were no options available to select the Viewer or Viewer Analytics users.

New Experience:

In addition to the default Viewer and Viewer Analytics license permission bundles, admins can now create customized permission bundles for Viewer and Viewer Analytics paid license types. They can define and customize module access within these licenses and assign users to these bundles. This allows for precise control over what each user can access and do in Gainsight.

Efficient Configuration with Cloning

Old Experience:

In previous experience of Permission Bundles, admins were not able to duplicate existing bundles and reuse them. They had to create a new bundle each time.

New Experience:

The ability to duplicate existing permission bundles enables administrators to quickly replicate configurations and save significant time.
