This article explains how to install and configure the Gainsight PX Adobe Launch extension.

Overview

You can use the Gainsight PX Launch extension to enable Gainsight PX for your application. You can use this extension to install the Gainsight PX tag in your application, easily. You can find the Gainsight PX Launch extension from this site.

Key Terms

  • Adobe Launch: Adobe Launch is an Adobe Platform in which you can create extensions. You can consider Adobe Launch to be an OS.

  • Extensions: Extensions are the integrations created by Adobe or Adobe partners to add more functionalities to your app. If Adobe Launch is considered to be an OS, Extensions are the various apps that can be installed to accomplish various tasks.

  • Property: A Property is a placeholder in Adobe launch. You can store your Extensions and other key elements in a Property.

  • Gainsight PX Launch: Gainsight PX Launch is a Gainsight extension in the Adobe Launch platform.

  • Adobe Rules: An Adobe rule is used to perform various tasks automatically. Adobe Rules have three elements; Events, Conditions, and Actions. The rule works with the logic  “when an Event(s) is recorded with the set Condition(s), perform the Action(s)”.

Prerequisite

You must configure a Property for your application in the Adobe launch Platform, before installation and configuration of Gainsight PX Launch. To learn more about creating properties, refer to this Adobe article.

Add Gainsight PX Launch Extension to Property

A property in Adobe is a placeholder to store your extensions, rules, and data elements. Once you create a property for your application, you must add the Gainsight PX Launch extension to your property. To learn more about adding extensions to properties, refer to this Adobe article.

To add the PX Extension to your property;

  1. Log in to your Adobe Launch account.
  2. Click the Extensions tab.

Configure PX Extension with Product Key

Once you install the Gainsight PX Extension in your property, you must configure it by using the Product key of your PX instance.

To configure PX Extension with Product key:

  1. In Gainsight PX, navigate to Settings > Products and copy your product key.

  1. Switch to Adobe Launch Gainsight PX extension.
  2. Paste the Product key in the Gainsight PX Product Key field.
  3. Click Advanced to expand the menu.
  4. Configure the following options:
    • Independent iframe: Check this box only if PX is installed in an iframe that does not have PX installed in the parent document. This is not the usual case, typically PX is installed in both parent window and child iframe. To read more about this scenario, refer to Application is running as a tenant iframe under a different application section of Install Gainsight PX in iframes article.

    • Enable PX Environments: Check this box to send PX events to a different PX environment based on the Launch environment. If you select this option, the events are sent to the environments according to the mapping defined in the table. If you do not select this option, all events are stored in the production PX environment. Click here for more information on PX environments.
A typical environment setup is given in the screenshot below.

The following example is just an example and may vary for your application. The values must be obtained from your development team.
  2. Click Keep Changes.
