This article helps admins enable Gainsight Spaces and integrate it with Customer Communities.
Overview
Gainsight Spaces is a secure, digital collaboration environment that empowers Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and customers to work together efficiently. You can share success plans, custom reports, notes, documents, and customer goals in one place to improve communication and productivity.
As an admin, you can:
- Configure Spaces layouts
- Assign Spaces layouts to CSMs
To begin configuration, navigate to Administration > Spaces Configurations.
Spaces Enablement and Community Integration
You can enable Gainsight Spaces, link them to Customer Communities (CC) instances, and manage user invitations through the Spaces Configuration page. The following section contains steps for customers with and without existing community licenses, tools for monitoring invitation progress, and options for customizing invitation emails.
Enable Spaces with Community Integration
From the Spaces Configuration page, you can enable Gainsight Spaces and link it to a Customer Communities (CC) instance. .
Detect and Link Existing Community Instances
When you access the Spaces Configuration page, if a community instance exists for the organization, the system automatically detects it and displays the Enable Spaces option.
- Click Enable Spaces to link your CS instance to the detected community instance.

Once linked, the mapping between the CS instance and the community instance remains fixed. Deactivating and re-enabling Spaces do not allow you to change the mapping.
View Linked Community Instance
After successful linking, the page displays the name of the associated community instance. This helps you confirm the correct instance is linked.
Request Remapping through Support
If you need to remap the community instance, contact Gainsight Support. Only the Ops team can perform remapping. Admins cannot remap instances themselves.
Map Community Instances in Multi-Instance Environments
In environments with multiple CS and CC instances, for example, sandbox and production:
- Navigate to Administration > Spaces Configurations.
- Review the list of available community instances within the same authorization project.
- Select the desired community instance.
- Click Enable Spaces.

This mapping ensures each CS instance connects to only one specific community instance and prevents cross-instance conflicts.
