This article will guide you through creating three custom UI Views in Gainsight. For most of your reporting needs, we recommend the Report Builder feature; however, reports built with it can be displayed only on the Gainsight Home tab or in C360 sections. To display views on other tabs such as the Customers tab and Engagement tab, you must use UI Views. UI Views can also be displayed in Gainsight Home Dashboards. For more information about how to setup a Gainsight dashboard, please see this article.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

  • UI Views are a legacy feature and newer customers are not using them. We recommend using the Report Builder instead.
  • You may notice that your Gainsight org came with a Scorecard Summary View displayed on one of your dashboards in the Gainsight Home tab. The Scorecard Summary View is actually a UI View. In this case, UI Views allows us to display all of the scorecard measures in a row for each customer. Then the Scorecard Summary UI View is pulled into a dashboard layout on Gainsight Home.

Step 1: Select the Tab Name: Choose "Customers"

Step 2: Enter View Name: This is what you will see in the drop down menu of UI View. In this example, the name is "My Customers"

Step 3: Specify Filter Criteria: If you want to filter the list of results in a view pick Field(s) to filter on. In this case we are filtering out all churned customers to show only active and inactive accounts.

Step 4: Specify Report Params: When the UI View is in use, the Report Params can be changed on the fly by the user. In this case, we want the report parameters to filter the data to only show that the Account::{YOUR CSM ASSIGNMENT FIELD}, Labeled as the CSM in this example, equals the current user.

Step 5: Select Fields to Display These are the columns you will see in the UI View.

Step 6. Save.

We also need to add another report parameter, so we'll click the little blue (+) button at the end of that row. That next parameter is Customer::Renewal Date, Labeled as Renewal Date, equals the next 90 days.

Step 5: Select Fields to Display These are the columns you will see in the UI View.

UI View Utilization

UI View Utilization

Now that you have setup at least one custom UI View, go to the corresponding tab, in this case Customers. In the drop down pick the UI View you would like to display.

Note: The summary stats at the top of the page are pulled directly from the Customer Info object. To change these fields, Admins would have to modify the data that feeds into these fields, which is typically handled via a rule that is loading to Customers.

If you would like to add additional temporary parameters to this view click on the orange filter button at the top right of the table. From here you can pick Field(s) to add to the advanced search. Click Apply to execute. To clear the Advanced Search click on the Filter button and remove the filters by clicking the x next to each parameter.
