This article walks you through the process of assigning a Gainsight Package License to a Salesforce (SFDC) User.

Overview

For access to Gainsight application, admins must assign the Gainsight Package license and the Permission Sets in Salesforce.

To assign Gainsight licenses:
  1. Click Setup in the top right

  1. Enter Install in the quick find field and select Installed Packages  from the App Setup menu.

  1. Click Manage Licenses for the Gainsight CSM package.

Note: The Gainsight CSM page is displayed. You can view the number of licenses assigned and the remaining number of licenses. You can also view the users to whom the licenses are assigned.

  1. To use the remaining licenses, click Add Users.

  1. Select the check box for the users to be added and click Add.

Notes:

  • Admins may also need to add permission sets for some users in order for them to see the Gainsight app in their sfdc.com menu.

  • If your organization uses the Gainsight Survey module, and creates a survey site in Salesforce, a license will be assigned to the survey user. This license is used only for survey site setup and does not have an associated cost. The survey license is, however, added to your organization's total number of purchased licenses on the Gainsight Licenses page.

  • If a user is granted a license but marked as Inactive, the license will still be considered as in-use. Unchecking the "Active" box just suspends the access. If you want to free up that license, you need to remove the inactive user.
