This article walks you through the process of assigning a Gainsight Package License to a Salesforce (SFDC) User.
Overview
For access to Gainsight application, admins must assign the Gainsight Package license and the Permission Sets in Salesforce.
Notes:
- This step is not necessary in Sandbox
- You must refer to Gainsight & SFDC Permission Sets while assigning Gainsight License to a Salesforce User.
Note: The Gainsight CSM page is displayed. You can view the number of licenses assigned and the remaining number of licenses. You can also view the users to whom the licenses are assigned.
- To use the remaining licenses, click Add Users.
Notes:
-
Admins may also need to add permission sets for some users in order for them to see the Gainsight app in their sfdc.com menu.
-
If your organization uses the Gainsight Survey module, and creates a survey site in Salesforce, a license will be assigned to the survey user. This license is used only for survey site setup and does not have an associated cost. The survey license is, however, added to your organization's total number of purchased licenses on the Gainsight Licenses page.
- If a user is granted a license but marked as Inactive, the license will still be considered as in-use. Unchecking the "Active" box just suspends the access. If you want to free up that license, you need to remove the inactive user.
