Overview

Admins can configure the Load to SAP DataSphere Action to sync data from Gainsight to SAP DataSphere. Rules Engine provides the ability to prepare the dataset from various standard and custom objects of Gainsight, and the Load to SAP DataSphere action type sends the data to the tables in SAP DataSphere.

Gainsight recommends reading the configuration of the Rules Details, Data Setup, and Schedule steps before reading this article. For more information, refer to the Create New Rule section of the Rules Engine Horizon Experience Overview article.

Example Business Use Case:

Customer Success Managers (CSMs) can push the Gainsight Health Scores or Customer Goals and Success Plans data into their data warehouse to drive enterprise visibility.

Configure Load to SAP DataSphere Action Type

To configure the Load to SAP DataSphere Action type:

  1. In the Action Setup step, click the Add Action icon. The Add Criteria slide-out panel appears.

  2. (Optional) Click Add Criteria to define filter criteria for the dataset.
  3. Click Skip This Step to navigate to the Add Actions step

  4. From the Create Action drop-down list, select the Load to SAP DataSphere Action type.

  5. In the Load to SAP DataSphere section, provide the following details:
    1. From the Connectors drop-down list, select the SAP DataSphere connection.
      Note: The SAP DataSphere Connection must be first authenticated on the Connectors 2.0 page.
    2. From the Object Name drop-down list, select the tables to which you want to transfer the data.
    3. From the Operation drop-down list, select one of the following:
      • Update: Updates the existing record as per the field mapping.
      • Upsert: Updates any matching records and creates new records if no matching records are found.
      • Insert: Inserts new data from the source fields into the target fields.
    4. (Optional) Description: Enter a description for the rule action.

    5. Click Add Fields to map fields. This is required to load data to tables.
    6. From the Add Fields drop-down list, select either of the following types of fields to add to the action.
      • Source Field:  Select source field(s) from the dataset prepared in Gainsight objects while configuring the rule and map it to the target field in the SAP DataSphere object. To select source field(s):
        1. Click Source Field. The Select Fields slide-out panel appears.
        2. Select the checkbox of the source fields from where the data must be fetched.
        3. Click Select. The selected source fields are added to the Field Mappings section.
        4. From the Target Fields drop-down, select the target object.
        5. (Optional) Add a Default Value.
          Note: This value is loaded in the target field in case the source field value is invalid or not available.

      • Custom Field:  Provide a custom value to the target field in the SAP DataSphere object. To  provide a custom value to the target field in the SAP DataSphere object, configure the following details:
        1. Click Custom Field.
        2. From the Target Fields drop-down list, select the target object.
        3. Enter a value in the  Source Field.

  6. Click Save Actions. The Load to SAP DataSphere Action Type is saved successfully.

Schedule the Rule

The rule that is ready with the dataset and required action setup can be scheduled according to time-based and event-based schedules. You can schedule the execution of an individual rule in chronological order.
