Gainsight Customer Education and Salesforce Integration Overview

By using Gainsight Customer Education (formerly known as Northpass) and Salesforce together, you can surface customer training data directly inside your Salesforce CRM, where Sales, Support, and Success teams already work.

This integration creates a shared view of learning activity that enables you to:

  • Bring training data into the CRM: Learner enrollments and activity are available in Salesforce alongside accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
  • Analyze the impact of training using Salesforce reporting: Combine training data with business data such as revenue, renewals, or support cases to understand how education influences outcomes.
  • Automate workflows based on learning activity: Use Salesforce automation (such as triggers or flows) to notify teams or take action when learners enroll, complete courses, or reach key milestones.

How the Integration Works

The integration creates a custom Enrollments object in Salesforce. Enrollment data flows in one direction only, from Gainsight Customer Education to Salesforce, and is associated with Salesforce Contact records based on the learner’s email address.

Data begins syncing from the point of installation forward. Historical training data is not automatically backfilled. Enrollment activity is sent as it is generated, though updates may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

To get started, install and configure the Gainsight CE–Salesforce integration so enrollment data from your academy appears in Salesforce. If you need historical enrollment data available, you can optionally export it from Gainsight Customer Education and import it into Salesforce.
