Gainsight Customer Education and Salesforce Integration Overview
This article explains how the Gainsight Customer Education (CE)–Salesforce integration works and how it brings training data into Salesforce.
Overview
By using Gainsight Customer Education (formerly known as Northpass) and Salesforce together, you can surface customer training data directly within your Salesforce CRM, where Sales, Support, and Success teams already operate.
This integration creates a unified view of learning activity, enabling your teams to:
- Bring training data into the CRM: Learner enrollments and activity are available in Salesforce alongside accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
- Analyze training impact with Salesforce reporting: Combine training data with business data such as revenue, renewals, or support cases data to understand how education influences business outcomes.
- Automate workflows based on learning activity: Use Salesforce automation tools such as triggers or flows to notify teams or take action when learners enroll, complete courses, or reach key milestones.
How the Integration Works
The integration creates a custom Enrollments object in Salesforce. Enrollment records are linked to Contact records based on the learner’s email address.
- Data Flow Direction: One-way, from Gainsight Customer Education to Salesforce.
- Data Sync Timing: Data begins syncing from the time of installation forward. Historical training data is not automatically backfilled.
- Sync Behavior: Enrollment activity is synced as it is generated, though updates may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
To begin integration, install and configure the Gainsight Customer Education–Salesforce integration. Once setup is complete, enrollment data from your learning academy syncs automatically to Salesforce.
IMPORTANT: Historical training data is not synced automatically. To include it, export the data from Gainsight Customer Education and manually import it into Salesforce.
