This article answers common questions about migrating a Gainsight CE custom domain to AWS CloudFront.

Do my learners need to do anything?

No. Learners do not need to take any action. Learners may experience a brief redirect while your DNS provider processes the changes.

Can I make both DNS changes at the same time?

No. The values for the second change are only generated after the first change is confirmed. Complete the changes in order.

I added the record but did not receive confirmation. What should I do?

DNS propagation can take up to 72 hours. After 72 hours, verify the record exactly matches the values in your email and that Cloudflare does not proxy it. If it looks correct, contact support@gainsight.com.

I have multiple domains. Do I need to do this for each one?

Yes. Each domain requires separate DNS changes. You receive an email for each domain with domain-specific values..

My DNS is managed by an external agency. Can they make these changes?

Yes. Forward the migration email to your agency. These are standard DNS operations.

My TTL options don't include 300. What should I use?

Time to Live (TTL) controls how long your DNS record is cached. Use the closest available value or select Automatic. TTL does not affect whether the migration succeeds.

I received a DNS conflict notification. What does that mean?

A DNS conflict notification means that an existing DNS record is incompatible with the new infrastructure, most commonly a proxied Cloudflare record. Contact your IT or DNS administrator and refer them to the Migrate Your Custom Domain to AWS CloudFront and AWS Certificate Manager article.

Who do I contact if I need help?

Contact support@gainsight.com with your domain name and the steps you have already tried.
