Setting Up Notifications for Microsoft Teams
This article explains how admins can set up notifications for MS Teams using Workflows.
How to Send Staircase AI Notifications to Microsoft Teams
Step 1: Access Microsoft Teams
- Log into your Microsoft Teams account.
- Go to the "Teams" tab.
- Select the desired team and navigate to the target channel. You can also create a new channel if needed.
- Click on "More options" and choose "Connectors".
Step 2: Configure the Incoming Webhook Connector
- In the "Connectors" section, search for the "Incoming Webhook" connector.
- Click on the "Configure" button.
- Provide a name for your webhook and optionally upload an image.
- Copy and save the unique webhook URL displayed in the dialog.
- Save the changes.

Step 4: Configure Staircase Integration with Microsoft Teams
- Log into your Staircase account.
- Click on the cog symbol in the left-hand bar to access the settings.
- Navigate to the "Integrations" tab.
- Look for the "Microsoft Teams" card and click on "Add webhook".
- Enter a channel alias and paste the webhook URL in the modal window. Note that the alias can be different from the original channel name.
- Save the changes.
Step 5: Set up Staircase Notifications for Microsoft Teams
- After configuring the webhook, go to the "Notifications" tab in Staircase.
- Create a new notification.
- In the "Notify on" section, select the "Teams" option.
- Choose the channel alias from the drop-down list.
- Save the configuration.
Step 6: Verify the Setup
- To test the setup, send a test notification.
- Locate the notification you want to test and click on the three dots on the right side.
- Choose the "Trigger test notification" option.
- If you see a new message in your Microsoft Teams channel, it means that everything is working correctly.
