This article is intended for admins who manage and publish course content in Skilljar Starter.

Overview

After creating a course, publish the content to your course catalog to make it visible and accessible to students. Publishing makes the course live on the domain you select.

Publish a Course

1. On your Skilljar Dashboard, select Course Management and then Courses to open a list of your courses.

2. Find the course you want to publish and select the ellipses at the end of the row.

3. Select Publish Course from the drop-down menu. The course settings page opens.

4. In the Publish Settings section, select the domain where you want to publish the course.

5. Complete any other applicable options on the page (see below).

6. Select Save and Continue or Save at the bottom of the page. You have now published the course on the selected domain.

Note: If you already published the course, the Already Published option replaces the Publish Course option and lists the domain. When you publish to multiple domains, the system disables Prerequisite and Location settings; you can update these on individual published courses.

Publish Settings

On the Publish Settings page, you can configure:

  • Enrollment Settings: set a registration start and end date, and an enrollment expiration date. By default, students have unlimited time to register and access the course.
  • Tags: add and associate tags to help organize and surface the course.
  • Learning Paths: add the course to existing learning paths you have created.
  • Catalog Pages: add the course to existing catalog pages you have created.
  • Group Visibility: set the default visibility and group settings for the course.
