Old X-Org vs New X-Org

Pain Points in old X-Org Solutions in New X-Org
Creating a connection between source and target orgs was not so intuitive and involved repeated token generation to authorize the connection. Gainsight has simplified the process of connection creation and authorization.
Administrators were required to manually migrate all Asset dependencies in order for the migration to be successful. All Asset's dependencies are automatically migrated from the source to the target org.
The migration summary did not list all the dependencies that would be migrated as part of the Asset. You can now view all the dependencies of the Assets in the Migration tab.
Re-using the same migration to another org was not possible. You can now re-use the migration to another org in the Migration tab.
You had no option in the User Interface (UI) to know the status of the incoming migrations. You can now check the status of the incoming migration in the Migration tab.

What’s New in the X-Org Migration?

  • When you add Assets to a Bundle, the dependent Assets are automatically added.
  • Re-use the existing migration (Bundle) to other orgs. For example, if you performed a migration from Org A to Org B, then you can now reuse the migration from Org A to Org C.

  • New X-Org supports migration of Assets from Old X-Org.

Note: While migrating Assets from old X-Org to new X-Org. the admins must manually migrate all of the Assets' dependencies for a successful migration.

  • Admins can test run a migration before the actual migration to ensure that there are no failures.

  • While refreshing a bundle, you can see the current status of the number of assets in the bundle.

  • Gainsight has simplified the process of Connection creation and Bundle creation.

Connection Creation: Admins just need the tenant ID of the target org for sending a connection request. In the target org, admins can accept or reject the connection request from the source org.

Bundle Creation: Admins can select the Asset Type and Entity Type, then drag and drop the assets to create a bundle. The dependent assets will be automatically added to the bundle.
Note: The dependency resolution is only supported for Business Modeler, Success Plan. Reports, Success Snapshots, and Data Management.
