This article explains about the Activity tab that helps admins view the history of changes to objects, data, and company merges. 

Overview

The Activity tab helps admins to view and manage a variety of logs pertaining to Data Management. The following logs are available in the tab: 

Update Activity

The Update Activity logs allows you to view all changes made to Gainsight objects.

 To access the logs: 

  1. Navigate to Administrations > Customer Data > Data Management.
  2. Click the Activity tab.

The Update Activity page appears, displaying log details of each object, along with the following information: 

  • Log Time: Date and time the updates were carried out
  • Object Name: Name of the object updated
  • Operation Type: Type of change performed
  • Modified By: User who made the updates

You can perform the following actions to the object logs:

  • Search for specific logs by object name, type of operation, or name of the person who made the modification 
  • Filter and narrow down on logs using Activity Date, Object, and Operation Type filters
  • Expand a log entry to view detailed information of the object for an operation
  • Open the three-vertical dots menu and select Edit Object Details to update object information. For more information, refer to the Edit an Object section of the Basic Operations in Gainsight Data Management article.
  • Open the three-vertical dots menu and select Edit Fields to update field information. For more information, refer to the Edit a Field section of the Basic Operations in Gainsight Data Management article.

Data Update

The Data Update section helps admins view all the edit or update activities performed on low volume custom objects for  the past 120 days. 

To access the section : 

  1. Navigate to Administrations > Customer Data > Data Management.
  2. Click the Activity tab. 
  3. From the Update Activity dropdown, select Data Update.

The Data Update page displays change logs for all the operations performed on low volume custom objects from Data Management or C360. For more information on low volume custom objects, refer to the Gainsight Objects article from the Additional Resources section.

Each log on the Data Update page displays the following information:

  • Object Name: The low volume object that was modified.
  • Modified At: The date and time of modification.
  • Status: Status of the modification.
  • Operation Type: Type of change performed.
  • Modified By: The name of the user who modified the object.

You can perform the following actions to the data logs:

  • Search for specific logs by the type of operation, status, or name of the person who made the modification 
  • Filter and narrow down on logs using Activity Date, Object, and Operation Type filters.
  • Click the Download Activity Log button to export the logs in an Excel file.
  • Expand a log entry to view detailed information of the object for an operation.
  • Click the three-vertical dots icon and select Download Activity Log to export that specific log in an Excel file.
  • Click the three-vertical dots icon and select Edit Object Details to update object information. For more information, refer to the Edit an Object section of the Basic Operations in Gainsight Data Management article.
  • Click the three-vertical dots icon and select Edit Fields to update field information. For more information, refer to the Edit a Field section of the Basic Operations in Gainsight Data Management article.

Company Merge History

The Company Merge History section helps admins view the history of every Company Merge initiated within the org. 

To access the section: 

  1. Navigate to Administrations > Customer Data > Data Management.
  2. Click the Activity tab. 
  3. From the Update Activity dropdown, select Company Merge History.

The Company Merge History page displays a record of how your Company data has changed over the period of time. Each log displays the following information:

  • Start Time: Date and time the merge activity commenced.
  • End Time: Date and time the merge activity ended.
  • Merged Companies: Name of the companies involved in the merge. 
  • Status: Status of the merge activity.
  • Merged By: The name of the user who initiated the merge activity.

You can perform the following actions to the company merge logs:

  • Search for specific logs by name of the merged companies, status, or name of the person who made the merger. 
  • Filter and narrow down on company merge history using Activity Date, and Merged By filters.
  • Expand a log entry to view the detailed Log Summary of the Company Merge.
