Rules Engine

- Rules Engine is designed to improve your underlying customer data to produce superior customer outcomes. It can perform powerful multi-step, in-memory data transformations for large datasets in Gainsight within one rule. Transformations include aggregations, multi-dataset merges, formulas, and time-series calculations; helping your team to better identify meaningful data signals.
Rearrange the Rules Engine's Actions
Admins now have the ability to set the ranking order of actions based on their requirements. This enhancement empowers admins to fine-tune the Actions Execution Order, bringing a new level of operational efficiency to the customer data system.
For instance, consider the scenario where admins want to optimize data management by first removing outdated scores before assigning a green status to high-usage accounts. This capability ensures that data operations align precisely with the business objectives, contributing to a more streamlined and effective workflow.
Previously, the rules engine ranked actions based on their setup. Admins couldn't modify the sequence of actions in a dataset, as shown in the image below:
Admins can now modify the ranking sequences of actions using the Action Execution Order feature.
In the preceding image, actions are displayed with assigned rankings. Shifting Load to SFDC Object from rank 4 to rank 2 causes a reorganization. The action originally at rank 2, Load to Company, is subsequently positioned at rank 3, while the one initially at rank 3, Load to Company, is now moved down to rank 4. This illustrates the dynamic impact of modifying the ranking order.
But that's not all—this enhancement brings additional functionality to the table. Admins can now leverage two new columns, Criteria and Task, alongside the default column headings in the Actions Execution Order dialog box. This addition aims to enhance clarity and provide a more comprehensive view of the action sequences.
For more information on how to rearrange or reorder the actions in Rules Engine, refer to the Ranking Actions for Execution Order section in the Rules Engine Horizon Experience Overview article.
