Overview
This article explains how admins can configure the Person Section in C360/R360 layouts. This configuration includes adding fields to the list and detail view configuration of the Person section and adding fields that will be available for CSMs while adding a person in the C360/R360 Person section. You can add a new Person section from either Global or Local sections to the C360/R360 layouts from the C360/R360 Layouts configuration page. The Person section in the C360/R360 page displays the list of people associated with the company or relationship, as well as their personal and association details, fetched from the Gainsight Person Model. For more information on Gainsight Person, refer to the Gainsight Person Object Model article.
Once the person section is configured, the Person section in the C360/R360 page looks similar to the following image.
Note: The below configuration is explained using C360, and the configuration for R360 remains same.
Add Person section to the 360 Layout
To add the Person section to C360:
- Navigate to Administration > Company > C360 Layouts.
Note: To add a Person section to the R360 page, navigate to Administration > Relationships > TYPES > Select a Relationship Type > LAYOUTS. - Create a new layout or edit an existing 360 layout.
- From the context menu of the Layout, select Edit.
- Add (drag and drop) Person section from LOCAL Available section to Selected sections.
Note: You can also add a Global section created on Person type from the GLOBAL Available sections. For more information on how to create a Global section of type Person, refer to the Global Sections article. - Hover on the Person section and click the CONFIGURE icon. The Configure Section dialog appears.
- Enter the following details:
- Edit the section title if required.
- (Optional) Enter the description to the section.
Configure List View
Fields that you add from the person model into this configuration page appear to CSMs in the person list view from the C360 > Person section.
To add fields in the List View configuration:
- In the List View tab, add (drag and drop) the required fields of the Person and Company Person objects from Available Fields to Selected Fields.
- Select the Allow Record Delete checkbox to allow end users to delete person records from the C360/R360 page.
- Select the Allow Add Person checkbox to allow end users to add person records from the C360/R360 page.
- Hover on any field, click the Edit icon, and change the field label that should appear in the list view.
- Click SAVE to save the list view configuration.

Configure Add Person
Fields that you add from the person model into this configuration page appear to CSMs while adding a person from the C360 > Person section. CSM can add information into these fields while adding a person. For more information on how to add a person, refer to the Person Section in C360 article.
To add fields in the Add Person configuration:
- In the ADD PERSON tab, add (drag and drop) the required fields of the Person and Company Person objects from Available Fields to Selected Fields. You can see all of the standard and custom fields from the Gainsight Person model in the Available Fields.
- Hover on any field, click the Edit icon, and change the field label that should appear in the Add Person dialog.
- Click SAVE.
Fields added in the above configuration page are available in the Add Person dialog in the C360 > Person section as shown below:
Once this configuration is done, CSMs can directly add persons from the C360 > Person section. For more information on how to add a person from the C360 page, refer to the Add Person records from C360 article.
Configure Detail View
Fields that you add from the person model into this configuration page appear to CSMs in each person detail view from the C360 > Person section.
To add fields to the Detail View configuration:
- In the DETAIL VIEW tab, add (drag and drop) the required fields of the Person and Company Person objects from Available Fields to Selected Fields. All of the standard and custom fields from the Gainsight Person model are available in the Available Fields.
- In the Selected Fields, hover on any field to perform the following actions:
- Click the Settings icon of any field.
- Enable/disable the Edit Permission option. If you enable this option, CSMs can add/modify values in the field from the C360 > Detail View.
- Click the Edit icon to change the field label that should appear in the Person Detail View and click the Save icon.
- Check or uncheck the Show Relationship checkbox to add or remove the Relationships section from the C360/R360 > Person Detail View.
Note: This checkbox is used if Relationships are not configured in the org.
- Click SAVE after you configure the fields.

Configure Chart View
This section explains how Gainsight administrators can configure the People Maps feature. Admins can add fields to the CHART VIEW tab of the Person section. Once admin adds the fields, users can see the added fields on the People Maps section.
IMPORTANT: People Maps is available as an add-on to the Gainsight CS subscription. Contact your account manager for pricing information.
Admins can add a maximum of four fields from the Person and Company Person objects to the Person CHART VIEW. By default, Name and Email fields are available on the CHART VIEW tab. You can remove the Email field, if required. However, you cannot remove the Name field. Apart from the Name field, you can add a maximum of three additional fields to the CHART VIEW tab. Admins should add any one or both of the Additional Attributes: NPS® Score and Last Engagement Date to the Person Chart View. At least one of the additional attributes must be added to the chart view. Once chart view is configured, Person Card Preview can be seen next to the selected fields.
To add fields to the Chart view:
- Navigate to Administration > 360 Layouts.
- Click the C360 LAYOUTS tab.
- Click the Edit icon for the required layout.
Note: If you cannot find the Person section under the Selected sections, drag and drop it from the Available sections. - Click the Configure icon for the Person section.
- Click the CHART VIEW tab.
- Drag and drop the required fields from Available Fields to Selected Fields section.
- Click SAVE.
You can see in the below image that five fields such as Name, Email, Role, Country, and Last Engagement Date are displayed in the Person widget in People Maps.
Configure Layout Settings for People Maps
Admins can configure the layout for the People Map as Horizontal or Vertical view by default. The map is displayed to the CSMs or other users in this default layout. CSMs or other users can switch between the view layouts of the map as required. The vertical layout is more suitable for large organizations where the person hierarchy is wider, to avoid horizontal scroll in the map while the horizontal layout is suitable for smaller organizations where the map has fewer hierarchy levels.
Note: Each time CSM reloads or navigates back to the C360 page, the map displays in the default view set by admin.
To configure layout for the People Map:
- Navigate to Administration > 360 Layouts.
- Click the C360 LAYOUTS tab.
- Click the three-vertical dot icon for the required layout and then select Edit.
Note: If you do not find the Person section under the Selected sections, drag and drop it from the Available sections. - Click the Configure icon for the Person section.
- In the Configure Section window, click on the CHART VIEW tab.
- In the Layout Settings section, select the layout you wish to apply to the maps.
- Click SAVE.
Configure Person Search Settings
Admins can configure custom search settings of the Person Search while adding a person in the C360 > Person section. To configure the Person search:
- Navigate to Administration > Person > SEARCH CONFIGURATION. You can see the default fields: Person::Email and Person::Name in the Selected Fields section.
- Drag and drop the required fields from Available Fields to Selected Fields.
The search fields configured above are now available in the Add Person dialog in the C360 > Person section. You can enter values into these search fields to find an existing person record in Gainsight. If you find an existing person record, you can select the person and add values into the remaining fields to associate the current company. If you do not find an existing person record, you can click ADD NEW PERSON to add a new person record and associated values to the current company. These actions are as shown below:
