Enhance Conversational Analytics with Gainsight PX MCP V1.1

Gainsight PX MCP v1.1 introduces an optimized toolset and a new text-to-query capability for more flexible conversational analytics.

What’s New

You can ask natural-language questions across Query Builder, Engagement Analytics (In-app Guides, Dialogs and Sliders, and Email), Survey and In-App Hub analytics Audience Explorer, and Account Explorer, and beyond, using supported AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.

PX MCP v1.1 provides greater flexibility for grouping, pagination, and CSV Downloads. You can explore and analyze PX data through more sophisticated conversational questions.

To access the latest tools and capabilities:

  • Claude: Each user needs to refresh the tool list or disconnect and reconnect the app.
  • ChatGPT: The admin needs to refresh the app.

Verify that 16 PX MCP tools are available after the refresh.

Example Business Use Case

A Product Manager asks the following natural-language questions in a supported AI tool, and PX MCP v1.1 returns the relevant PX data directly in the conversational interface:

  • Identify the top 10 features used by accounts that have used [feature or module name] more than 30 times in the last seven days.
  • Show me the list of Accounts along with their Product Score, Active Users, Active User Coverage, and Stickiness, which have Product Score greater than 50.
  • Provide a complete interaction breakdown of [Dialog name] in the last 30 days — how many views and CTA clicks did it receive?
  • Show me the list of users who have responded three or more stars to any rating survey in the last 30 days in product X.
  • Create a dashboard visualization of the top 10 features used in the last seven days, with each feature displayed as a timeline widget.

PX MCP honors the PII restrictions configured in PX. If you want PII, such as email address, first name, last name, and more, to remain visible in the PX UI but excluded from PX MCP responses, contact Gainsight PX Support.

[Know More]
Streamline In-App Hub Setup and Configuration

The In-App Hub setup experience now provides a more streamlined and guided workflow for building and configuring In-App Hubs.

The new editor brings hub setup into a unified workflow organized around Widgets, Appearance, and Target. Configuration options are displayed in the center of the editor, while a persistent preview on the right lets you see how the hub will appear as you configure it.

With the redesigned experience, you can:

  • Add and arrange widgets from a consolidated Widgets step and access individual widget configurations from the same workspace.
  • Customize the hub appearance from a dedicated Appearance step.
  • Configure audiences and pages from the Target step.
  • Manage localization directly from the Widgets workflow. Localization settings stay closer to the hub content they apply to.
  • Preview the In-App Hub while you configure it. You no longer need to move between configuration and preview screens.

The new workflow brings the key In-App Hub configuration options into a clearer, more consistent experience, making hubs easier to set up and manage.

Target Recommendations and Task Lists with Expanded Rule Sets

The Recommendations and Task Lists widgets now support additional rule sets similar to the persona-based and system-based rules available in engagements, enabling consistent targeting across PX. This helps ensure that recommendations and task lists are delivered based on richer, more precise audience criteria.

This update lets you:

  • Use persona-based rules such as Segments, Product Mapper, and Custom Events.
  • Apply system-based rules such as URL, Location, and more.
  • Define more granular and context-aware conditions for recommendations and task lists.
